As old as I am, I’m still learning things everyday. Now, keep in mind I’m not the chef that Penny was born to be, I’m just the average, run of the mill, basic, everyday cook that can get food on the table on a daily basis without poisoning my family. However, having been around Penny (the other “mother” in Mother Earth Meals) I am learning to just go for it when it comes to cooking meals and trusting my instincts. For example, I was so proud of myself when my husband requested a Mexican dinner last night and I REALLY did not want to run to the grocery store for the millionth time this weekend – so, I improvised. Yes, I really improvised! I browned the ground turkey and made my own seasoning for it, I put together whatever I had in the pantry and fridge that resembled Mexican side dishes and somehow made them tasty, and guess what? Everyone loved it! Who knew? Even I can whip up a healthy meal using my common sense and creativity!
So, the lesson learned here is this: when it comes to the kitchen, just go for it! If you want some salsa, chop up some tomatoes, throw in some garlic, whatever peppers you have in the house, add whatever else suits your fancy and presto – you just whipped up a dish! Have the confidence to experiment and learn from your successes and failures. This is a lesson that can be applied to life in the kitchen or life in general. See, you learn something new everyday!

That’s my little sis. I am so proud of you. That’s really cooking. Great job.
Thanks! That’s such a compliment from you, the ultimate chef!
